Which one should I get? The Honda Civic at $18,000 for the LX Sedan OR $16,000 for the i Sport Mazda 3. The Honda is a little better in gas mileage and would probably be cheaper to maintain.

go for the civic. it DOES have better gas and is all around somewhat nicer. but if you live in a large city i would get the sport mazda because its easier for city driving and will get you alot of ladies =D
