sterling garbage truck

is it legal and safe to put a 4 point seat harness in my car without actual racing seats?

This is without buying actual racing seats and keeping my original toyota corolla seats and just replacing the existing seat belts.
what is required?
remember LEGAL AND SAFE!

As long as the harness is secured well and does what it is supposed to then it will be fine. However harnesses are normally connected to roll cages and im assuming since you do not have racing seats you also do not have a cage.
