2007 Cadillac SRX - How to replace the passenger compartment air filter (cabin filter)?

I note that there are two tabs holding a cover in place over the cabin filter. In which direction do I push the tabs? After pushing them, do I pull up on the tabs to remove the cover?
I note that there are two tabs above the cabin filter

look under the hood iat the top near the passanger side there should be a compartment up there and under it is the filter
