Constructive feedback on Chapter One of my [Victorian era] novel?

Okay, hello again all! I've been working on some historical fiction, and I just don't find that Chapter One is as captivating as I desire it to be! So I was hoping some of you might be able to give me some constructive criticism and tell me where I can
The opening paragraph is too dull. You also get quite wordy; tone down the extravagant words. You will lose the readers attention.
Try not to dump too much information on the reader in the first chapter. A lot of writers struggle with this;
