Renault Megane Sport Hatch Dynamique radio code. How do I enter the code?

I have a 52 plate Renault Mégane Sport Hatch Dynamique 1.9 dCi 120 6 Speed. I have just had the battery changed and now my radio needs a code for it to work. I have the code from the manuel but when i put the digits in, how to get the radio to accept

once you have all the four digits displayed correctly in the display, press and hold the button on the underneath of the audio satellite controls on the right hand side of the steering column! if it doesn't come on then the code in your service book is
